Kaiser, Don't Deny

Patients need access to timely and consistent mental health services

Patients sent to classes that don’t help

Published Wednesday, January 19, 2022

More than 1,400 Kaiser mental health patients have shared stories at kaiserdontdeny.org of care delayed or denied, and the stories keep coming in. Here’s a recent story from a patient sent to group therapy when they really needed one-0n-one care:

The only solution for my own mental health challenges from Kaiser was to prescribe meds. You don’t get to see a doctor, and then they want to go to a group therapy session, which I never found helpful (and at times made me feel worse). No personalized care. Been an employee and a member for 38+ years. Very disappointed with care I have received.
