Why does it have to be so hard?

Published Friday, February 12, 2021

I was referred me for “out of network” Magellan therapy visits but I haven’t been able to find a therapist near me who is accepting new patients yet. I don’t know what to do about the psychiatrist situation, as they say my location will only have one doctor. left until they can hire more (there used to be half a dozen, but they have left). I am very frustrated. I struggle with suicidal thoughts every day, a mood disorder, anxiety, and this mess has making it all worse. I wish I felt supported instead of fighting my healthcare company tooth and nail just to get the bare bones of what I need for mental health. Why does it have to be so hard?
