Video appointment fails, next one available: seven weeks

Published Friday, August 5, 2022

Today I had a “video appointment” for 8:30 a.m. with my Kaiser psychiatrist. At 8:25 a.m. I logged in as usual, went to “Appointments” and clicked on my doctor’s name and it said “Join Your Visit”. I clicked there and I got this little spinning circle like it was waiting for my doctor to initiate the meeting. I waited 40 minutes…NOTHING. I called the main Walnut Creek Mental Health phone for help. They sent a message to my psychiatrist that I was waiting. She messaged back saying she had been waiting also. They then told me my video time had passed (it was now past 9 a.m.) and the doctor would try to call me “soon”. She called at 10 a.m., but at that point I was busy teaching my online class. I had waited 2.5 months for this appointment. The clinic informed me I could reschedule, but the next video meeting was in seven weeks.
