This is a terrible abdication of care
Published Saturday, March 23, 2019I tried getting mental health care from Kaiser — even just basic care, like seeing a therapist once a week, the bare minimum for depression — at Kaiser Los Angeles and was informed that they “don’t do weekly therapist appointments.” Instead, they do monthly appointments and then group visits, along with referrals to community resources. Given how much I pay for insurance (plus all my co-pays and other charges), its insane that I can’t see a therapist. Kaiser decided to pull the plug on mental health care and it is terrible. Unless you have some extra cash to pay out of pocket for therapy, you are out of luck with Kaiser. This is a terrible abdication of care.
