The first available appointment was 3 months, 18 days away

Published Thursday, June 13, 2019

I talked Kaiser to arrange for my 13-year-old daughter to see a female therapist to treat her depression and help her build some coping skills. I was given the date of September 24 — three months and 18 days from today — as first available date. I asked about other options since she can’t wait three months to talk to someone. They said she would be put on a wait list in case someone cancels, but the wait list is long and there’s no guarantee her name would be drawn. I see people complaining on here about waiting one month; I’m not sure how they expect anyone to wait that long, let alone THREE months. Desperate at this point for other options.
