Paying out of pocket after trying to sign up for recommended classes for months without success

Published Monday, August 29, 2022

I sought therapy for moderate anxiety, depression, and grief and was offered only classes. I fought with them for months and was told that my anxiety and depression levels didn’t warrant therapy. I tried to sign up for the classes suggested by calling the phone number given to me by the intake psychologist and the number listed on the website and didn’t receive a call back for two months. I gave up and have been paying out of pocket for my therapy. I have opted not to take the suggested medications because Kaiser won’t cover them.
