Paying out of pocket after trying to sign up for recommended classes for months without success

Published Monday, August 29, 2022

I sought therapy for moderate anxiety, depression, and grief and was offered only classes. I fought with them for months and was told that my anxiety and depression levels didn’t warrant therapy. I tried to sign up for the classes suggested by calling the phone number given to me by the intake psychologist and the number listed on the KP.org website and didn’t receive a call back for two months. I gave up and have been paying out of pocket for my therapy. I have opted not to take the suggested medications because Kaiser won’t cover them.
