Kaiser, Don't Deny
Patients need access to timely and consistent mental health services
Patient Stories
No coordination of care
Published Sunday, December 9, 2018I have been a mental health patient at Kaiser for more than 20 years. I have had seven suicide atrempts and been hospitalized many times. The doctors at outside facilities never communicate with my psychiatrist at Kaiser. There is no coordination of care. While I do see my therapist every two weeks, I only see my psychiatrist every three months. I currently receive ECT treatments, and again there is no communication between doctors. I have a lot of childhood trauma, but Kaiser does not have any specific therapy to try and deal it. When my therapist is not there, I am not given any other options for therapy. Kaiser has a lot of work to do in the mental health department.
