It took months for me to get therapy from Kaiser
Published Thursday, February 18, 2021It took months for me to get therapy from Kaiser. The process was as difficult as could be. I had to call to learn new phone numbers to call, intake appointments (not therapy) to get through, where I learned new numbers where I had to make new appointments. Important information like phone numbers and hours of operation weren’t available on the Kaiser website. It was impossible to communicate by email or by leaving voicemail – live phone calls during business hours are the only option. My appointments were canceled at the last minute. I went through the Kaiser grievance process, but they were unable to help me. I wasn’t surprised when I learned Kaiser had previously been fined for providing insufficient access to mental health care.
