Eight months battling to see a therapist

Published Friday, December 7, 2018

It’s been eight months battling with Kaiser to see a talk therapist. After speaking to my general practitioner, I was referred to a psychologist within two weeks. During my appointment I was offered group classes to reduce stress and anxiety. I stuck to my guns and requested to see a talk therapist. During that visit the psychologist told me that Kaiser believes in “behavior modification” and that talking about my problems “isn’t always helpful.” I was referred to a third-party contractor who did an intake then NEVER followed up with me. I’ve tried contacting them several times and have never received another call.
