Bounced from department to department

Published Monday, November 12, 2018

I tried for two months to get care for binge eating disorder and anxiety/depression. I was bounced from department to department, none of which knew what the others offered. I had to go outside of Kaiser to find a therapist because the wait for a Kaiser therapist was months long. I tried to get a referral for care at an outside facility and was denied. I finally had to enter their outpatient group program for anorexia and bulimia before I could be seen by a psychiatrist. Even now that my appointment with a Kaiser therapist is scheduled, it is still one month out.
