SEIU’s fraudulent campaign exposed on eve of ballot count for 43,500 more Kaiser workers to join NUHW

LOS ANGELES—The National Labor Relations Board petitioned a federal court yesterday for an injunction ordering Kaiser Permanente to immediately repay more than $1 million in illegally-withheld raises and other benefits that members of the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) are entitled to under the terms of their union contract. The withheld raises had become the centerpiece of a multi-million-dollar campaign by the SEIU to stop 43,500 more Kaiser employees from joining NUHW in an union election that ends tomorrow—the largest private-sector election since the 1940s.

SEIU officials beg NLRB to stop Kaiser elections

Filing asks federal government to reconsider decision to hold elections for nearly 2,000 more Northern California Kaiser employees to join NUHW

Oakland, Calif.—As 44,000 Kaiser Permanente workers vote by mail in their election to leave SEIU and join the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW), three more groups of Kaiser workers in Northern California are eagerly awaiting their own elections. But the incumbent union SEIU today made a last-ditch effort to stop those three elections and deny nearly 2,000 union members the right to vote.

In a filing with the National Labor Relations Board, SEIU officials begged the federal government to ignore petitions from hundreds of workers and reconsider the decision by the NLRB’s Regional Director to move forward with the elections.
