In February, NUHW members at Providence hospitals and hospices in Northern California held their first regional Day of Action, while striking mental health professionals at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California risked arrest to hold a street protest with allies in Los Angeles as their strike enters its fifth month. Also in February, pharmacists at MarinHealth Medical Center joined their coworkers as NUHW members, while NUHW expanded its Sanctuary Union resolution and honored Black History Month.

Providence workers stage first Day of Action across Northern California
More than 2,000 NUHW members held their first region-wide action to demand contracts that will provide market salaries and safeguard care in their communities. Read more / Lee más

NUHW expands Sanctuary Union resolution
Approved by NUHW’s member-led Executive Board, the updated resolution commits NUHW to protect the rights of all of its members and their patients, including transgender people, to be able to receive medical care and to access care without risk of being confronted by immigration agents.
