Presenter: Stephanie “P-J” Philpott-Jones, PsyD
Dr. Philpott-Jones is a licensed clinical psychologist in the states of California and Colorado. She specializes in the treatment of addiction, men’s psychology, trauma, disenfranchised populations, first responders, ADHD, autism, as well as severe and persistent mental illness. Dr. Philpott-Jones has a background in neuropsychology, and has instructed at the graduate level for cognitive and personality assessments. She currently has a private practice working primarily with substance use disorders, neurodiversity, and men’s mental health. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and his children.

Course description: This continuing education course aims to provide nursing and behavioral healthcare professionals with a comprehensive understanding of opioid addiction and strategies for harm reduction. Participants will delve into the complexities of addiction to opioids, explore evidence-based interventions for harm reduction, and develop skills to effectively support and care for individuals struggling with opioid use disorder.

Instructional methods: Lecture with slides, large and small group discussion, case study review.
