10am-4pm

In order to be a strong, effective steward, you must understand your role and responsibilities, know your contract, and be committed to organizing and leading your coworkers. This all-day training will introduce stewards to a number of important concepts and skills, including NUHW’s approach to building the model union, the role of the steward at the workplace, legal rights/responsibilities of a steward, using grievances and collective action to solve workplace issues, interpreting your contract, and how to organize and build power at your workplace.

Our member trainings include organizing fundamentals, bargaining strategies, political engagement and representational skills essential to strengthening and growing our union. Continued education classes are also available online.
