You can fill out the Census electronically
It’s critically important that everyone living in the U.S. completes the Census. And, this year, you don’t have to wait for the census to come in the mail; you can complete it online.

The census, which is taken every 10 years, affects the amount of funding your community receives, how your community plans for the future, and your representation in government. Specifically, data from the 2020 Census is used to:
- Ensure public services and funding for schools, hospitals, and fire departments.
- Plan new homes and businesses and improve neighborhoods.
- Determine how many seats your state is allocated in the House of Representatives.
The census is not just for U.S. citizens. It’s a snapshot of everyone living in the country, and the Census Bureau will never ask you for your social security number, credit card, or bank information.
This year, paper forms were delayed in order to push people to respond online. That decision was made for a number of reasons including accessibility and impact on the environment.
If you still want to fill out a paper form, your census questionnaire should arrive in the mail soon. Don’t forget to fill it out with a black or blue ink pen. But if you want to do it now, click here.
