Wait times for assessments are long

Published Tuesday, October 11, 2022

My two sons were provided very poor opportunity to connect with a therapist and establish a rapport to work on their issues. Wait times for assessments were long and follow-up visits were offered three to six weeks later. I have currently established a therapeutic relationship with a private therapist at a cost of $170 per session. I chose this route as I know the Kaiser Mental Health Department would prefer to prescribe a drug over adequate mental health therapy.
