Six weeks to start a grief group
Published Friday, January 11, 2019When my grandfather died, Kaiser wanted me to wait six weeks to start a grief group, and even longer to see someone individually. Our family has a history of depression and I’ve done well to keep healthy, but knew my limits and explained I’d be well depressed by then. I paid out-of-pocket to see someone sooner, and I’ve never sought counseling services through Kaiser again.
