NUHW Members Join SF Community in Saying “No Blank Check for Sutter!”

Sutter Health, the most anti-worker hospital corporation in the state, wants to boost its profits by building another massive high-end hospital in San Francisco and consolidating services across its CPMC campuses.
SEIU has given its full endorsement to Sutter’s rebuild, even though it’s opposed by community organizations and other unions all over the city, and even though Sutter has not committed to preserving the jobs of CPMC workers or preserving access for low-income patients.
In San Francisco, healthcare monopolization by Sutter Health and CPMC has meant:
Low levels of charity care
Low levels of Medi-Cal care
Pushing poor patients away from CPMC’s high-end hospitals and into St. Luke’s and SF General
The highest cost for care in the entire state
