New video from last week’s Kaiser strike
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Last week, 2,500 Kaiser workers all over Southern California went on strike to protect patient care and to reject Kaiser management’s attempts to cut our benefits.
We want to share this new video with you to show just how spirited and united our picket line was!
See it for yourself – and then email it to your friends and co-workers. And if you’re on Facebook, join our Facebook group and then share our new video on your Facebook page!
Our successful strike wasn’t the only good news this week for NUHW members at Kaiser. You may remember that when we joined NUHW almost a year and a half ago, Kaiser tried to retaliate against us by denying the raises and benefits scheduled under our prior contract.
Since then, two judges ruled that Kaiser’s conduct was illegal. And just this week, I’m proud to report, checks for our full retroactive pay arrived in our mailboxes.
Once again, we’re seeing proof of how we are holding healthcare corporations like Kaiser accountable.
We’re proud to stand with you as members of NUHW.
In unity and strength,
Doug Aberg, RN, Hospice and Palliative Care, Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center
