Luther Manor workers overwhelmingly ratify first Michigan NUHW contract
Workers win contract with no takeaways and major improvements
After voting to leave SEIU in 2011, Luther Manor workers in Saginaw, Michigan overwhelmingly voted to ratify their first NUHW contract last week.
Securing wages increases, weekend differentials, improved bereavement and medical leave, and raising standards for starting pay across the board, workers celebrated their achievement.
Olga Vasquez, an 18-year Certified Nursing Assistant at Luther Manor saluted her co-workers, “It was hard work, but in the end we won a contract with improvements and no takeaways at Luther Manor. We’re so proud to have helped win NUHW’s first contract in Michigan!”
