Luisa Moreno

Luisa Moreno was born in Guatemala and lived in Mexico before moving to New York where she became an activist, largely representing Latina laborers in the United Cannery, Agricultural, Packing, and Allied Workers of America (UCAPAWA). In 1938 she brought together more than 100 groups for El Congreso de Pueblos de Habla Española, which advocated for fair treatment of Latinx workers.
