Keck Dermatology and Internal Medicine workers join Ambulatory contract
Workers in the Internal Medicine and Dermatology Clinics at USC Keck Medical Center voted last week to join the NUHW ambulatory contract. Ninety-seven percent voted to approve the pact, which includes across-the-board raises of at least 3%, plus a $600+ ratification bonus. In May 2020, all workers will move up to their correct wage scale step based on years or service, or a minimum of 3%, whichever is greater.
These 54 workers, who voted to join NUHW in March 2019, will enjoy other protections including just cause for discipline, seniority rights for scheduling and overtime, and additional compensation for working outside their job descriptions.
“By joining the ambulatory contract, we will have better job security and better staffing,” says Elizabeth Barajas, LVN. “We’ll be paid fairly and finally given the respect we deserve.”
