Kaiser Permanente must be held accountable for its mental health care failures: San Francisco Examiner op-ed by Sal Rosselli
NUHW President Sal Rosselli penned an op-ed for the September 4, 2014, edition of the San Francisco Examiner on Kaiser Permanente’s mental health care failures. In light of the severity of Kaiser’s violations of state laws governing health care and the fact that recent data proves that Kaiser continues to violate the law, NUHW calls on the California Department of Managed Care to hold Kaiser accountable for fixing the problems with its psychiatric services. Kaiser hopes to avoid public testimony from its patients and clinicians in an upcoming hearing by negotiating a settlement with the DMHC over the $4 million fine the agency levied against it in 2013.
