In the News: Kaiser nurses threaten SoCal strike

Hundreds of nurses at Kaiser Permanente’s flagship Los Angeles Medical Center are angling to call the first nursing strike at the hospital in more than 20 years.

Members of the National Union of Healthcare Workers aim to notify Kaiser during a candlelight vigil at the hospital Wednesday night that they intend to call a one-day strike if management continues to refuse to bargain in good faith, union leaders say.

By law, the union has to give Kaiser at least 10 days notice. The union represents 1,100 nurses at the hospital.
