Hilda Solis

A daughter of immigrant parents from Nicaragua and Mexico, Hilda Solis was the first Latinx Secretary of Labor under President Obama and the first cabinet secretary of Central American descent. A former Congressmember, she was also the first woman to receive the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for her work on environmental justice issues. She currently serves as a Los Angeles County Supervisor representing the First District.
