An extraordinary year for NUHW
California Pacific Medical Center
It’s been an extraordinary year for NUHW.
Between October 2015 and October 2016, we settled twenty-three contracts — including nine first-time contracts — covering 8,600 members. We won 11 elections and added 1,500 new members to our union — a 17 percent increase. We won the long battle with Kaiser. And we show employers throughout California that we’re a force to be reckoned with. We shined a light on their profit-driven policies. We helped our allies win elections. We used our influence with presidential candidates to get mental health care on the national agenda. We improved the lives of thousands of our members, and hundreds of thousands of non-union workers. And we improved standards of care that will impact millions of patients.
We’re building the model union. And no one can stop us now.
