David Chiu San Francisco’s first Asian city attorney of San Francisco, is a strong advocate for social justice and environmental sustainability.
A Harvard Law graduate, Chiu has worked as a corporate attorney for several top law firms and is the founder of a small business that provides affordable housing to San Francisco residents.
Prior to his appointment as city attorney, Chiu served as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from 2009 to 2014, and as president of the board from 2011 to 2013. During his time on the board, Chiu was a vocal advocate for affordable housing, tenant protections, and immigrant rights.
