Our union contracts guarantee us good pay and job security. Even more important, they give us a real voice when it comes to staffing, scheduling, caseloads, and many other aspects of our work.

At Kaiser Permanente, our members won a contract that required Kaiser to hire hundreds more mental health clinicians and form labor-management committees to address scheduling and staffing issues. At UCSF Children’s Hospital Oakland, our members won back defined benefit pensions, which will guarantee caregivers a secure retirement and help the hospital retain its top-notch staff.

The National Union of Healthcare Workers represents thousands of healthcare professionals in California who work for Kaiser, UCSF, Dignity, USC Keck and several other health care systems. It’s led by members, who are committed to empowering caregivers so all of us can have satisfying careers knowing that we are doing all we can care for our patients.
