30 New Stewards Sworn in at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital

Thirty brand new NUHW shop stewards were sworn in en masse at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital this week.

In May, SVMH workers voted overwhelmingly to leave SEIU and join NUHW.  After enduring five months of SEIU-imposed legal delays, SVMH workers were finally officially certified as NUHW members just three weeks ago.

”Taking our oath all together made me feel how united we are,” said housekeeper Jessie Mendoza. “And being united is how we’re going to get things done.”
