Los Alamitos Housekeepers Ratify New Contract!
Congratulations to the latest NUHW members to ratify a contract!
42 previously non-union environmental services workers at Los Alamitos Medical Center in Orange County ratified their first union contract by a vote of 38-2. The three-year contract provides an average wage increase of 23% over three years with a 19% average increase frontloaded in the first year.
The Los Alamitos workers, who work in a subcontracted unit run by Aramark, also won training pay, lead pay, a 401(k) match and 10 days paid vacation for workers with 1-3 years service.
NUHW members at Los Alamitos now join workers at Doctors Medical Center San Pablo and San Francisco Nursing Center who ratified NUHW contracts earlier this year.
