Lakewood workers ratify new contracts
EVS and Food Service workers at Lakewood Medical Center in Los Angeles County ratified new three-year contracts last week with Sodexo, a Lakewood contractor.
Both bargaining units won wage increases and retroactive pay back to the expiration date of their previous contracts, improvements in attendance policies, more time to file grievances, more shop stewards, more time for personal leaves of absence, and improved language on job postings.
EVS workers also won second-shift differential, increased pay for the lead position, and settlement of outstanding grievances.
