SEIU United Healthcare Workers West is the largest hospital workers union in California with 150,000 members and was formed in 1934 during the San Francisco general strike. SEIU president Andy Stern and the SEIU are now pouring in millions of dollars to take over SEIU UHW and have ousted the leadership with an imposed trusteeship. This video looks at what the rank and file members and leaders of the 150,000 local feel about this and includes an interview with organizer and staff steward Alexandra Early on the inside of the struggle for California homecare workers. UHW members from throughout Northern California also talk about what they think of the SEIU and their efforts to form a new union called the National Union Of Healthcare Workers NUHW.
